The Lake
Deadwood is an irrigation reservoir quite a ways back in the piney woods of
Southwestern/Central Idaho.
It is a beautiful area, great for camping.
Some years there is a great kokanee fishery here, depending on water levels.
The water level may be completely drawn down in drought years.
There is a large shiner minnow population.
The Fish and Game stocks the lake with various species to predate on the shiner minnows.
It is probably a good idea to use minnow imitations or the real thing, trolling or from the bank.
It is a long drive so check out the fishing reports and water levels before heading out.
Get to Deadwood Reservoir through Cascade and Warm Lake, on the Landmark Road.
Or from the Banks/Lowman Hwy, about five miles west of Lowman.
The Fish
Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat, Cuttbow Hybrids, Atlantic Salmon, Kokanee
